The brief for this home came to us after an unsuccessful search for a standard floor-plan that suited the owner’s desires and block shape. With specific design ideas in mind, the Stones came to us for a custom build that ticked all their boxes—and then some. The construction of this residence was nothing short of unique. On a narrow sloping block, we kept earthworks to a minimum by designing split levels and kept timings to a minimum by constructing the second storey offsite. Designed for a growing young family of 6, the Stone Residence features a parents’ retreat upstairs, soaring 38c ceilings, custom cabinetry, twin ovens, an oversized CaesarStone ‘sleek concrete’ island bench and stone benchtops throughout.
